Olivia. 17. My life consists of long periods of anti-social boredom with a few crazy badass adventures thrown in. Oh, and the occasional utter disaster.

Cop Sexually Assaults Woman Then Arresting Her For Protesting

As if that wasn’t enough for them, they sent her child to protective services and put the mother in jail for “making false allegations against a police officer”, which is actually not a crime. Now that it’s been revealed she was telling the truth, not only is the cop fired, but even the judge who sat there and let it happen is under investigation.

never forget, acab.

physically painful to watch.

this news station actually just used a trigger warning though!

fucking gross

Just a reminder that cops are the worst.

Why…just why :(

"As a lifelong career criminal, although I no longer enjoy the right to keep and bear arms, I’d like to take a moment to express my appreciation to the National Rifle Association for nonetheless protecting my ability to easily obtain them through its opposition to universal background checks. Upon release in a few years from my current federal sentence on bank robbery and weapons charges, I fully anticipate being able to stop at a gun show on my way home to Connecticut — where new laws have made it nearly impossible for a felon to readily purchase guns or ammunition — in order to buy some with which to resume my criminal activities. And so, a heartfelt thank you to the NRA and all those members of Congress voting with them. I, along with tens of thousands of other criminals, couldn’t do what we do without you."

psa: feminazi is a fucking disgusting term that compares fighting for women’s rights to genocide.

it was coined by rush limbaugh (that alone should be enough to make you stay far far away from it)

it is a racist term, and it is disrespectful to marginalized groups who suffered in nazi germany (so jews, rroma, lgbt folks, people with disabilities, etc.)

do not use it.

if you disagree with feminists: do not use it

if you are a feminist: do not reclaim it

thank you

George R.R. Martin on writing women:
Interviewer: There's one thing that's interesting about your books. I noticed that you write women really well and really different. Where does that come from?
George R.R. Martin: You know, I've always considered women to be people.

So, I paint my nails pretty regularly these days. I also work as a barista/cashier pretty regularly these days. A few weeks back, I had a customer come in, a fairly typical, sheltered, suburban soccer mom, and she ordered a latte from me. She saw my brightly colored nails and said, “Wow, you’re so brave! My son asked me about painting his nails, and if it’s okay for boys to do that. Now I’ll tell him there’s a cool guy who does it too!” It was a nice moment, very cute.
Then, last week, she came in again, and said, “Hey, I’m so glad you’re here! I want you to meet someone!” She then brings her son forward, and says, “Okay sweetie, show him what you did!” And he throws his hands up, showing off his bright, sparkling blue nails. He shows them off, and I show mine off to him. He smiles. We fist bump.
Guys, I’ve only wanted to cry once at work before, and that was when someone ordered a large dry soy cappuccino on ice.
This time, though. This was a good cry.

Dude. DUDE. You are a kickass role-model, and that is a kickass mom.

Kurdish men in Iran have launched a Facebook campaign to send a message: being a woman is nothing to be ashamed of. The “Kurd Men for Equality” campaign was started in response to a judge’s ruling that forced a man convicted of domestic abuse to wear women’s clothing as a form of public humiliation.

According to Global Voices, a local court in a Kurdish province of Iran ordered the man be escorted through the streets while wearing a red dress and hijab. Since then, Kurdish Iranians have organised on Facebook to speak out against the ruling, which they say is demeaning to women.

Several men have shared photos on the campaign’s page, along with captions such as:

Hoping for the day that sexuality, gender will not be a way of evaluating humanity.”

For many years, women in my country have been side-by-side with men, wearing men’s clothes, struggling. Tonight I am happy and honoured to wear women’s clothes and be even a small part of the rightful struggle of people to express gratitude and excellence to the women of my country.”

“Woman” means “life”.

“We should gather together and condemn this stupidity, brutality and inhumanity against women.  This is the least I can do to support women.”
